Warranty Terms and Conditions – KING AUTO GROUP PTY LTD

Warranty Coverage

  • All parts sold by King Auto Group Pty Ltd (“King Auto Group”) are covered by a parts-only warranty unless otherwise stated in writing. 
  • Used mechanical parts fitted in personal vehicles carry a warranty of three (3) months or 10,000 km, whichever occurs first. 
  • Used mechanical parts fitted in commercial/business vehicles (including taxis, hire cars, Uber, etc.) carry a warranty of one (1) month. 
  • New parts carry a warranty of six (6) months or 20,000 km, whichever occurs first. 
  • Extended or labour warranties may be available upon request and will be explicitly stated on the invoice. 

Heat Tabs & Warranty Voiding

All engines supplied by King Auto Group are fitted with heat tabs. Warranty is automatically void if heat tabs
have been removed, altered, melted, or tampered with, indicating possible misuse or overheating.

Warranty Limitations

  • Warranty does not cover damage caused by dismantling, alteration, tampering, misuse, abuse, or improper installation. Returned items must be complete and in original condition (excluding packaging).
  • Warranty excludes broken gears or burnt clutches on transmissions, gearboxes, and differentials.
  • Labour costs, including installation, removal, and diagnostics, are not covered unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Restocking & Returns

  • Incorrect or unwanted goods returned within seven (7) days will incur a 25% restocking fee, which includes handling and dispatch charges.
  • Returns after seven (7) days are not eligible for refunds.
  • Postage and freight costs are non-refundable. If shipping was free or included in the purchase, any costs incurred by King Auto Group will be charged to the customer.
  • Holding deposits become non-refundable after 24 hours. Parts can be held for a maximum of two (2) weeks unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Special order parts and cut body sections are non-returnable.

Customer Responsibilities

  • Customers must ensure compliance with all applicable laws regarding vehicle repairs and registration. King Auto Group does not guarantee registration compliance.
  • Full payment is required before ownership transfers. Items remain property of King Auto Group until paid in full.
  • Parts or vehicles must be collected within two (2) weeks of notification. Storage fees of $22 per item per day may apply thereafter. After six (6) weeks, uncollected goods may be dealt with under the Uncollected Goods Act.
  • Customers must provide accurate vehicle details (manufacture date, make, model, body type) prior to purchase.
  • Body panels are sold “as is.” Exchanges are only made if King Auto Group supplied an incorrect part.

Installation & Maintenance Requirements

  • To maintain warranty validity, the following must be performed:
  • Engines must never be rotated anti-clockwise; timing must be verified before start-up. Notify King Auto Group immediately if timing is incorrect.
  • Use only correct oils, lubricants, and maintain fluid levels.
  • Installation must be performed by a qualified, licensed tradesperson.
  • Radiators, fan belts, hoses, thermostat, and filters must be serviced or replaced as needed.
  • Critical engine components (oil seals, timing belts/chains, water pumps, injection pumps, injectors, manifolds, engine wiring looms, and sensors) must be inspected and replaced if necessary prior to installation unless purchased separately with warranty and clearly listed on the invoice.
  • Use of aftermarket or performance-enhancing modifications may void warranty.
  • Accessories fitted to supplied parts (e.g., manifolds, clutches, carburetors) are for convenience only and are not covered by warranty.

Warranty Claim Process

  • Report any signs of malfunction immediately and cease operation to prevent further damage.
  • Contact King Auto Group promptly to discuss the issue.
  • Upon request, parts or vehicles must be returned to King Auto Group or a designated location for inspection.
  • All return freight must be prepaid by the customer unless prior arrangements are made.
  • Failure to comply with these terms may void warranty entitlement.

Inspection and Return Policy

  • Parts or vehicles must be returned to King Auto Group or a designated business for inspection or repair upon request.
  • Freight costs must be prepaid by the customer. Shipments with unpaid freight charges may be refused.
  • The customer is responsible for all costs associated with towing, transportation, accommodation, storage, or other incidental expenses.

Non-Returnable & Non-Refundable Items

  • Bodyshells and major body section cuts are non-returnable and non-refundable.
  • Non-factory or aftermarket parts installed on a different make/model are not covered unless agreed in writing and are non-returnable.

Special Parts Warranty

A 30-day parts-only warranty applies to specific electrical/control components (e.g., ECU, ABS pumps, window regulators, control modules, power window switches).

Warranty Exclusions

Clutches, clutch forks, and related accessories are excluded from warranty coverage.

Warranty Claim Requirements
For any warranty claim to be processed, the following must be provided and meet all listed conditions:

Digital Diagnostic Report

  • Generated by computer-based diagnostic equipment (no handwritten or manually typed reports).
  • Must include the date, time, and VIN of the diagnosed vehicle.
  • Must list the make and model of the vehicle being diagnosed.
  • Full report must be exported or printed directly from the diagnostic software.

Mechanic Proof of Installation

  • Proof of installation by a licensed mechanic must be supplied within 48 hours of installation and before the
    engine is first started.
  • Proof must include:
    • Mechanic or workshop name and license number
    • Date and time of installation
    • Vehicle VIN and registration number
      Proof supplied after the engine has been operated will not be accepted

Photo Evidence (Mandatory)

  • Clear, date-stamped photos showing:
    • Engine installed in the vehicle before first start
    • Vehicle VIN plate
    • Odometer reading at the time of installation
  • Metadata from digital photos must match the invoice date.

Photos of Suspected Faults
Clear, date-stamped photos of any suspected faults or damage must be provided with the claim.

No Coverage for Non-Compliant Installations
Any installation not meeting these proof requirements will void the warranty, regardless of mechanic credentials.

King Auto Group will respond within 48 to 72 hours from the time you submit your claim and all required documents.
